Palazzo Comelli
The Palazzo Comelli Complex , located in the historic village of Cà Melati , is a prominent element in the context of the ancient hamlet of Bargi , located upstream from Lake Suviana and within the Regional Park of the Lakes . Acquired by the municipal administration in 2004, it is one of the most important architectural and cultural episodes in the Reno Valley.
The Palace is arranged around suggestive internal courtyards , flanked by the Casa del colono and by stables and barns still undergoing restoration work.
Suviana Lake
Located at an altitude of 400 metres, the lake is regarded as one of the most popular out-of-town destinations for the Bolognese. Several paths lead from its shores up the surrounding slopes, from Monte di Stagno to Monte di Baigno with the enchanting centuries-old chestnut grove of Poranceto. It is precisely among these woods that we find wild deer herds, especially during the mating season in September and October, when they make their presence felt with their unmistakable roaring
Rocchetta Mattei
The castle called “Rocchetta Mattei” gets its name from the earl Cesare Mattei (1809-1896) who built it on the ruins of an ancient building dated back to the 13th century, called Rocca di Savignano. The structure of the castle had been repeatedly modified by the earl and his heirs, so that it became a maze of towers, monumental stairways, reception rooms, and private chambers. They all evoke different styles: from neo-medieval to Neo-Reinassance, from Moorish to Liberty.
Porretta Terme
The city of Porretta Terme is a noted thermal site and a holiday center, renowned for its sulphurous and salsobromoiodic thermal waters already famous in Roman times.
The thermal baths, as well as offering different health and wellness services, are also a place of cultural meetings and other initiatives, like the fascinating guided tours of the underground springs.
The village of Porretta Terme is also an ideal starting point for naturalistic excursions in the greenery of the surrounding mountains and hills where suggestive towns are situated.
Corno alle Scale
The ski resort is the only one in the Bologna province. Skiing Champion Alberto Tomba took his firsts steps here.
There are approximately 36 kilometers of slopes for alpine skiing, served by 5 chairlifts, a ski lift and a moving walkway for a total capacity of approximately 10,000 people per hour. Artificial snow covers approximately 80% of the slopes.
